Here's just a small sampling of what we’ve accomplished so far.

Traffic Calming Demo

Pop-Up Event

In August 2025, Strong Towns Artesia partnered with the City of Artesia to host the community’s first-ever traffic calming demo. We installed two temporary mini-traffic circles and enhanced crosswalks, giving neighbors the chance to experience safer street designs firsthand.

The response was inspiring, residents were excited to see action being taken to improve neighborhood safety and grateful for the opportunity to share feedback on the streets they know best: their own.

2024 Strong Towns Artesia City Council Candidate Forum

In 2024, we hosted a forum for candidates running for the Artesia City Council, bringing together voters and candidates to discuss critical issues facing our community.

Our goal was to ensure that residents have the information they need to make informed decisions and to encourage a more engaged and transparent local election process.

Monthly Community Cleanups

Each month, Strong Towns Artesia organizes community cleanups, bringing together neighbors to take pride in our city. By collecting litter, reporting graffiti, and tackling eyesores, we help keep Artesia clean and beautiful for everyone.

These events not only make a direct impact on the physical environment but also build stronger, more connected neighborhoods.

Artesia Park Birdhouses

Strong Towns Artesia is working to enhance Artesia Park with a special birdhouse project aimed at supporting local wildlife. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to replace all six of the birdhouses that were recently retired from service at Artesia Park.

Sponsored by the local community and residents, including Linda Gonzalez, Bob & Yelitza Greene, Lorelei & Lindsey Bailey, The Manalo Family, Rene Trevino, and The Ahir Family, these birdhouses are selected with sustainability, safety of the birds, and ease of maintenance in mind.
